Q. What is the deadline to register for the conference?
A.

The discounted registration deadline is September 4, 2013, for all mailed, faxed, and online registrations. No registration will be processed unless accompanied by payment in full or a government purchase order. 

Beginning September 5, 2013, ONLY online registrations will be accepted – higher registration fees will apply.

Q. Can I mail or fax in my registration after September 4 with the higher fee?
A. No. Beginning September 4, 2012 ONLY online registrations will be accepted.
Q. Do I have to register in advance?
A. No. On-site registration for attendees opens on Friday, October 18, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Pennsylvania Convention Center, 1101 Arch St  Philadelphia, PA 19107, USA.  Higher fees will apply.
Q. Who can attend IACP 2013?
A.

Full registration to IACP 2013 (The 120th Annual IACP Conference & Law Enforcement Education and Technology Exposition) is limited to IACP members, their nonmember guests and family members, and exhibitors.

 

Sworn officers and civilian employees of law enforcement agencies (local, regional, state, federal) can register for the One-Day Pass and/or the free Exhibit Hall Pass.

 

IACP 2013 is a CLOSED show. To qualify for the Exhibit Hall Pass or One-Day Pass the recipient must work for the government or a law enforcement agency and will be required to show credentials upon arrival. This ensures a high buyer/seller ratio. The IACP reserves the right to refuse ineligible registrations.

Q. Do I qualify for the Complimentary Expo Hall Pass for Public Safety Personnel?
A. Sworn officers, first responders, and civilian employees of public safety and government agencies and the armed forces can register for complimentary access to the expo hall. Public Safety includes offices of police, sheriffs, EMS, fire service, hazmat and park rangers from federal, state, city, county, campus, and tribal agencies and the armed forces. To qualify for this three-day exhibit hall-only pass, the recipient must work for the government or a public safety agency and will be required to show their credentials upon arrival. The IACP reserves the right to refuse ineligible registrations.
Q. What does my registration fee include?
A.

Full Conference registration fees include access to all general assemblies, educational sessions, the Expo Hall, receptions, IACP’s Host Chief Night, and transportation between official hotels, the convention center, and the venues for IACP’s Host Chief’s Night and the Annual Banquet.

 

Day Pass registration gives access to all events for ONE day with the exception of Host Chief’s Night and the Annual Banquet.

 

Annual Banquet Tickets are optional to purchase (as an add-on) and not included in the registration fee.

Q. Will I receive a confirmation of my registration?
A. Confirmations will be sent via e-mail for all registrations.
Q. Will I be refunded if I have to cancel my registration?
A.

Yes, you can cancel your registration for a partial refund until October 16, 2013. No refunds are made on or after October 17 or for no-shows. All cancellations must be made in writing and mailed, faxed (703-836-4543), or e-mailed (conf2012@theiacp.org) to IACP.  No telephone cancellations will be accepted. 

 

The following service charges apply: Cancellations postmarked or fax/e-mail dated on or before Septeber 25, 2013 – $50 service charge; cancellations postmarked or fax/e-mail dated between September 26 – October 16, 2013 – $75 service charge.

Q. Can I transfer my registration to another member of my department/staff?
A. Yes, registration may be transferred to another person in your organization by written request to IACP prior to September 25, 2013. After this date all changes must be made on-site. Additional charges may apply.
Q. Is the Annual Banquet included in the conference registration fee?
A.

No, the Annual Banquet in not included with the conference registration fee. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis.  You can purchase your tickts when registering.  Go to the Special Events page for more information.

Note: the Annual Banquet is on a new day this year.  It will take place on Tuesday, October 22, 2013.

Q. Does the Monday Day Pass include IACP’s Host Chief’s Night access?
A. No. IACP's Host Chief’s Night is only included as part of Full Conference registrations. A limited number of individual tickets for Host Chief’s Night are available on-site only. Tickets may be purchased for $100.
Q. I am not a member of the IACP but my coworker is and cannot attend. Can I use their membership to register at the member rate?
A. Membership in the IACP is individual and nontransferable for conference Registrations. Nonmembers can register as the guest of a member and pay the nonmember registration fee OR they can join and take advantage of the First Timer registration rate—a 20% savings.
Q. I would like to join the IACP and register for the conference. What do I do?
A. If you wish to join the IACP, you may submit the membership dues along with the advance registration form or join online with a credit card and take advantage of the First Timer member registration rate. Those joining online will need to wait up to 2 business days before submitting their conference registration online. New members attending their first conference will save 20% off their registration fee by using the First Timer Registration Category.
Q. When does on-site registration open?
A. On-site registration for attendees opens on Friday, October 18, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Pennsylvania Convention Center, 1101 Arch St  Philadelphia, PA 19107, USA.
Q. Will all conference programming be held at the convention center? When does the Annual Conference officially begin?
A. All educational programming will take place at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, 1101 Arch St  Philadelphia, PA 19107, USA. Locations for events not being held at the convention center will be noted in the official program. The Annual Conference and Expo begins on Saturday, October 19, 2013 with educational sessions in the morning. The Expo Hall will open on Sunday, October 20, 2013. Some Committee/Section/Division Meetings take place on Friday, October 18, 2013. Be sure to make your travel arrangements accordingly.

Q. Will I need identification to check-in or register on-site?
A.

Yes, all attendees and exhibitors will need to provide valid photo identification to check in at the conference. 

 

Acceptable government-issued photo identification includes: driver's license, state identification card, work identification from local, state, or federal government, and/or passport.

Q. What is the dress code?
A. Business casual is appropriate for most conference events. IACP’s Host Chief's Night is casual (jeans, comfortable clothes). The Annual Banquet is black-tie optional (business suits are appropriate).
On Uniform Day, Monday, October 21, 2013 during the first general assembly, all members are asked to wear their uniform. The conference will celebrate the association's diversity and internationalism with a spectacular visual display of uniforms from around the world. To maintain the conference security measures, all members wearing uniforms at the conference are asked not to carry their firearm or other weapons.

A.

Q. Can I make my hotel reservations now?
A.

Housing opens May 8, 2013.  To begin making hotel reservations go to the Hotels/Housing page. 

Q. Will transportation be provided during the conference?
A.

Complimentary transportation will be provided between official hotels and the convention center and between hotels and venues for Host Chief’s Night and the Annual Banquet. Some hotels are within walking distance from the convention center. Ground transportation between the airport and hotels is not provided on a complimentary basis.

Q. Do I need a ticket for Host Chief’s Night?
A. Host Chief's Night ribbons are provided to full conference registration attendees including those registered under the family and child categories. The ribbon and conference badge holder are required for admittance to Host Chief's Night.
Q. Can I buy individual additional tickets for IACP’s Host Chief’s Night? What is the cost?
A. A limited number of individual tickets for IACP's Host Chief’s Night are available on-site only. Tickets may be purchased for $100. Please note that if these guests are already registered under the family or child categories, Host Chief’s Night is included in their registration and tickets do not need to be purchased.
Q. Will I receive credit for the workshops I attend?
A.

IACP does provide certificates of attendance for Full Conference Registrants seeking educational credit hours for workshops attended at the IACP Conference. In order to receive a certificate you must use your conference badge to sign in with the available scanner located in each workshop room. Certificates of attendance can be picked up at registration during conference and will also be e-mailed to you directly post conference. Spouse/companion registrants are not eligible for certificates.

 

Q. I am a member of the press – do you have press registration?
A. The IACP welcomes credentialed professional editorial staff (including photographers and camera crews) of print, online, and broadcast media to attend the Annual Conference and Expo on a complimentary basis. Members of the Media are encouraged to register online in advance. In order to receive your press pass all registrants will be required to show a Government Issue photo ID and their press credentials upon arrival at the convention center.
